Our history

The name LIMAS is an abbreviation for “Livsmedelsmaskiner”. The seven-sided form in the LIMAS logo is inspired by the Swedish eatwell plate that consist of seven parts where potatoes and root vegetables are an important part.

Bo and Lena Jönsson started LIMAS in the summer of 1980 in Åhus. Bo had a solid background from the food industry after having working since 1965 with the design and development of equipment for processing potatoes. After completing his engineering studies in 1986, their son Pär-Ola Jönsson began working as a designer in the company.

Bo and Lena retired in 2016 and Pär-Ola continues to run the company.
